INSPIRE ME WEEK

This week we had the pleasure of welcoming visitors from a range of careers to school for our ‘Inspire me week’. We listened to the likes of models, vets, architects, singers, inspectors, lawyers and many more. The children loved learning about all the different types of careers and paths you can choose when you grow older.

TOP 5% IN THE COUNTRY

A BIG congratulations to Dormers Primary staff and students! We have received a letter from the minister for schools stating we are in the TOP 5% IN THE COUNTRY for progress in reading, writing, and mathematics!
We are so excited for our thriving school community and the future.

FELIX PROJECT 

Every day we feed our community and we couldn’t do that without the support of @TheFelixProject.
The charity distributed the equivalent of 32 million meals in 2023 and we see the real difference that has for people in their day to day lives. [link] We are delighted to be part of the Felix family and their fight against food waste and hunger. We look forward to working with them to support people who need it most.

YEAR 6 HUMAN RIGHTS ASSEMBLY

Watch Year 6’s fantastic human rights assembly. They performed fantastically and gave a heartfelt mention to poet, activist, and inspiration, Benjamin Zephaniah.

FOODBANKS AT SCHOOL

In August, Dormers Wells Primary School was televised on ITV news, highlighting the need for foodbanks in our school during the summer. Take a look at the news piece here

ACCEPTED INTO HARROW SCHOOL!

We are so proud of Aaditya, who was accepted into the extremely prestigious Harrow School on a scholarship!
A school in which prime ministers have attended and is one of the few schools in the UK to have educated several Nobel laureates.

BRENTFORD FC – JOY OF MOVEMENT

WINDRUSH WINNER

A very big congratulations to Tisha for winning the Windrush award in memory of Sam King. Tisha produced an insightful essay about the generation that travelled on the MV Empire Windrush and arrived at Tilbury Docks on 22 June 1948.

School food banks are on the frontline fighting Holiday Hunger

Dormers Wells Primary School in Southall is one of City Harvest food charity’s free food recipients that has seen an increase in demand for food support. Volunteer, Shireen says that families need all the help that they can get as expenses go up significantly during the holidays.
